ASEFOP shows itself to the public through the activities organized by its schools and its formers, who develop an intense educational activity all around the world.
But as an Association it also has a life of its own, regularly organizing conferences, seminars and lectures on current issues addressed in the light of the discourse of Psychomotor Practice.
Internally, the central activity that constitutes the essence of the Association’s life is undoubtedly the International Stage for Trainers.

The ASEFOP International Training Stages have been the fundamental pillar of ASEFOP’s Training of Trainers over the years.
These Stages, initiated by Bernard Aucouturier and a group of psychomotor professionals in 1980, are at the origin of the birth of ASEFOP and have been carried out annually until today. This training space has been over the years the exceptional and privileged place where Professor Aucouturier transmitted to the trainers his experiences and updates in the field of Training and Psychomotor Practice itself.
Over the years these stages have become the most significant moment in the life of the Association as they have been the meeting place to work, share and enrich the heritage of Psychomotor Practice.

“It’s a paradox, the importance of working with young children has been demonstrated, but society works the other way around. It has a hard time recognizing this reality.”
Within the context of the international stage that ASEFOP holds annually in the host city of each school, a day open to the general public is usually organised, thus taking advantage of the presence of the trainers.
In 2017 this day, which was attended by more than 200 people, took place in Bilbao on 11 February with the suggestive title “Today is our turn for psycho! A magical place… without magicians”.
There, various trainers spoke and shared with the attendees various experiences that illustrated why the psychomotor room is such a special place, where you don’t have to be magicians, but rather be sufficiently trained to offer this space to the free motor expression of girls and boys, understanding and accompanying in the best possible way their path from beings of action to beings of thought.
The quality of the exhibitions, the participation of the large audience and the conditions of the facilities contributed to the great success of this day that ended with a magnificent magic performance, as it could not be otherwise.
The VIII International Asefop Conference on the topic “Living and thinking about the body in therapy”, organised by the Belgian School of Brussels (ebppa) has been a success both in terms of participation and content.
The Conference included two conferences, the first of which was the opening conference, given by the President of Asefop Maria Ángeles Cremades (CEFOPP) and was on the topic “Who am I?” “How does the infant tell us his story?”. To close the Conference, Danielle Michaux, a trainer at the Belgian School, gave her presentation on the topic “Between idealisation and reality of the step to action: going to the therapist’s resonance”. Between the two interventions, two workshops were held aimed at bringing into play the participants’ own resonances and facilitating their bodily involvement. This innovative methodology has mobilised people who have shown great enthusiasm and interest.
